Past, Present, Future
Originally built in 1915 for the Royal Flying Corps, this impressive Grade-II listed building connected Bristol to the world. Now this beautiful brick-built structure will have a new lease of life as a local, sociable community hub in the heart of Brabazon.
Designed with Filton Airfield's history in mind, the layout will echo the atmosphere of mid -century airport lounges with huge windows that bask the space with light.
At a time when flying was a thrill and a luxury, the historic Hangar 16U was a centre for innovation that shaped the future of flight. Once open, The Hangar will be a warm and welcoming venue which hopes to become a landing place for the local community.
Eat, Drink, Unwind
A much-loved local independent bakery will be serving freshly baked pastries, sandwiches and delicious seasonal coffee in our bustling yet airy open-plan cafe, the perfect place to turn on flight mode and catch up with friends or family.
Overlooking the 15-acre Brabazon Park, the area will open up onto a lively public square populated with pop-up markets and street food stalls.
Equivalent to the size of Castle Park, Bristol's new green space will feature a 2.5 acre lake with a floating boardwalk, heritage trail and children's playground - the perfect place to relax, play and unwind.
Health & Wellbeing

than just a gym, the centre will offer a variety of exercise classes, as well as state-of-the-art cardio machines and weight-training facilities.
Our activity rooms will also host a range of groups from antenatal classes to dance workshops, with community wellbeing at the heart of our social calendar.
